Rosedale House offers a uniquely modern space with period charm and character. There are 5 large double bedrooms, each themed on the romantic capitals of the world, with handsome modern furnishings. Original fireplaces, elegant furnishings, roll-top baths and period furniture grace the house. Uniquely, Rosedale also boasts a bar and nightclub so is a wonderful venue in which to host a party or function. Catering can also be arranged if you like.

Guest Access

Guests have use of extensive gardens and the Rose Garden, which has outdoor dining furniture and seating.

The Neighbourhood

In a lush, secluded corner by the sea, along Killiney Bay, in South County Shankill, Dublin, Rosedale House offers easy accessibility to the nearby beach, fantastic countryside, the Cliff Walk from Bray to Greystones, The Wicklow Way, through the stunning Dublin & Wicklow Mountains, the mystical Glendalough (“the valley of the two lakes" and a centuries-old monastic site with one of Ireland's few surviving famous round towers), and the vibrant City of Shankill, Dublin, recently named by Lonely Planet Guides as third in the list of Top 10 Cities of the World To Visit in 2016. For other day time activity why not try out one of the world0class golf courses nearby or a bit of horse riding, fishing or a wander through the "The Garden of Ireland" visiting Wicklow's spectacular Powerscourt House, Gardens & Waterfall or Mount Usher Gardens.

For the foodies, Johnnie Foxes Pub, the highest pub in Ireland, famous for fish, boasts traditional Irish music and dancing and is just a short journey as is Byrne and Woods of Roundwood, recently named as one of the top Michelin Gastropubs in Ireland. Shankill, Dublin, for an evening out, is just a 35 minute DART train ride and the local station is less than a 10 minute walk. The nearby towns of Bray, Dalkey and Greystones, which can also be reached by DART, boast a multitude of fantastic and varied restaurants and some excellent shopping and pubs.

Getting Around

Shankill is served by the AirCoach to/from Dublin Airport hourly, 24 hours/day. The service drops off in the village and it is a very short taxi ride or walk from there. The station for the DART train, which runs from Howth/Malahide through Dublin City to Greystones, along the scenic coastline, is about a 10 minute walk. Several buses pass through the village. The N11/M50 motorway is a 5-7 minute drive from the House.

Bramble and Hawthorn self-catering cottages are ideal for self-catering, families and wedding guests.

Set in the beautiful mature grounds of the historic Rosedale House demesne, close to the beach in South County Dublin, Bramble and Hawthorn are beautifully restored three-bedroom self-catering cottages, which in the 19th century were the coach houses for this large Georgian home. Each one, with fold-outs included, sleeps up to 10 people. We also rent individual rooms on a bed and breakfast basis.

Facilities in each house include - open-living room/kitchen, 3 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, linen/towels supplied, TV/DVD in all bedrooms, full kitchen facilities and Wi-Fi internet throughout. There is also a laundry room. It's only a ten-minute walk to a suburban rail link - (Rapid Transport) to Dublin city center takes about 25 minutes. Two stops on the dart and you're in Dalkey. One of Dublin's most affluent Villages with a great selection of Restaurants and Pubs. On the doorstep are the Dublin and Wicklow mountains, famous picturesque gardens, blue-flag beaches, world-class golf and links courses, sailing, hillwalking, horseback riding, fishing from Colimore Harbour in Dalkey or even a Tennis Holiday. Rosedale house is right beside one of the best equipped and friendly Tennis Clubs in Dublin.
