Manar House is a uniquely designed vacation property nestled in the heart of the Don Valley,Aberdeenshire set within a private 65-acre estate. Built in 1811, Manar House is a historic Grade B listed Georgian Mansion built by acclaimed architect John Smith who went on to build nearby Balmoral Castle for Queen Victoria. The Castle remains the favorite holiday home of the Royal family to this day. Manar House offers prime location and is a great base for the world-famous Castle & Whisky trails and world-class Golf courses located within Aberdeenshire. The location of Manar just outside of the traditional Scottish farming town of Inverurie on the River Don has all the outdoor and indoor activities you could wish for. From river fishing, clay pigeon shooting, hill walks, cold water dipping in natural ponds, or traditional Scottish fare from local family restaurants to coastal walks to spot the native seals, you are perfectly positioned to explore all of the wonderful sights Aberdeenshire has to offer.

Over the past five years, the current owners have meticulously restored and refurbished Manar House, seamlessly blending its timeless period features with modern luxuries and state-of-the-art technology, ensuring no detail has been overlooked. Consciously, sympathetically and lovingly renovated - Manar has been awarded five stars by Visit Scotland, the official tourist board. With a focus on British Art & Design the interiors are quirky yet tasteful, showcasing some of the best family and small business design houses from unique wallpaper murals to British wool carpets and artisan cushions & blankets, no detail has been left to chance. Particular mention should be made to the luxury bathrooms – timeless marble throughout combined with pressurized water systems and underfloor heating ensure the perfect spa like experience.

As a guest at Manar House you will enjoy exclusive use of the house and estate – the quintessential Scottish Country House experience living the Laird and Lady throughout your stay! Enter through the grand entrance hall, the sweeping feature staircase will immediately catch your attention. The impressive formal dining room and ballroom both with open fires are just off the main hall as is the spacious yet cozy Whisky Snug with roaring wood burning stove. Completing the ground floor on the main side of the house is the exquisite Main Chefs Kitchen. Ascend the grand staircase to the beautiful galleried landing with views out of the feature arched window to the courtyard and rear of the property. The 4 principal bedroom suites can be found off the main landing. This includes the bridal or ‘Lairds’ Suite (Super king) with dressing room and opulent master en-suite bathroom. The East suite has Twin Beds and large ensuite, the West Suite has a Super king and large ensuite and the South Suite has Twin beds and large ensuite.

Moving through to the west wing of the house on the ground floor is the billiard room, boot room and a large cloakroom. Accommodation in the west wing is made up of 3 beautifully appointed apartment suites over 3 floors, each with their own kitchen and lounge. The ground floor Sutherland Suite has 1 Super king master bedroom with en-suite and a single bedroom with ensuite. The first floor Gordon Suite has 1 Super king bedroom with en-suite and one King bedroom with en-suite. The second floor Don View Suite has 1 king master bedroom with en-suite, 1 King bedroom and 1 double bedroom with large, shared shower room.

Outdoors Manar House continues to impress! The property is surrounded by a private 65-acre estate made up of ancient woodland, manicured lawns and pasture where the resident highland cows and ponies can be found. Guests can enjoy the outdoor Main Terrace & Outdoor Kitchen which are perfectly positioned to take in the far-reaching views of the River Don and Don Valley with the house as the perfect back drop. Equipped with grill, fridge, sink and commercial wood burning pizza oven the outdoor kitchen is a delight, all situated around a huge granite island. Why not enjoy one of Manar’s signature Neapolitan Pizza evenings on the terrace during your stay?!
