Built in the 18th century, the fully renovated villa has historic character, modern amenities and a convenient location just outside Lucca. Relax and enjoy the property’s outdoor spaces and concierge and chef service, or use it as a base to explore Tuscany.

Castello di Lucca is ready to accommodate large groups in Italian style. The gated grounds feature an infinity pool, outdoor shower, tennis court, barbecue and plenty of furniture for outdoor dining or lounging. Inside, you’ll find a full bar and restaurant, a gym, and Wi-Fi access. There’s even a chapel on the property, as well as several smaller country houses.

Despite its size, the villa’s interiors are warm and inviting, with comfortable tufted sofas and antique wood furniture pulled up around original fireplaces. You can dine on the terrace under the stars or in the spacious dining room, which pairs traditional windows and lighting with clean-lined chairs and modern artwork. There is a fully equipped kitchen, but because chef service is included, it’s for staff use only.

Each of Castello di Lucca fourteen bedroom suites is air-conditioned and has a king bed and en-suite bathroom. Spacious and bright, with tall windows and traditional accents like four-poster beds, the bedrooms are peaceful and private. Each one also has a sitting area, where an extra bed can be installed if there are additional guests to be accommodated.

From the villa, it’s a 1-minute walk to a restaurant, gym and tennis court, a 5-minute drive to a church and clinic and a 10-minute drive to the grocery store. In just 15 minutes, you can drive to a train station or the center of the walled city of Lucca. Opera buffs won’t want to miss the Puccini Festival, held at nearby Torre del Lago, and sun-seekers will want to make the 25-minute trip to the beach. When you’re arriving or departing, the Pisa airport is a 30-minute drive away
