Villa Porto Felice is one of the most beautiful and whimsical vacation rentals on Lake Como, Italy. This spectacular Villa has amazing views of the lake and lush gardens that you can enjoy walking through at any time of the day. Sip an aperitivo and inhale the fabulous fresh views over the shores of Bellagio and the Golfo di Venere of Lenno. This is a fully staffed villa hosting up to 20 guests, in a private park with heated all season pool, gym, tennis court and staff accommodation. Built with grandeur in 1901 by an American Admiral, totally reconstructed in 2005 and sleekly refurbished in 2019 As the name suggests Villa Porto Felice is a place infused with happiness

Today the villa is known as a gallery of design on the lake. The interior designer’s creative style, which they term ‘evergreen’, features American and Italian works from 1950’s to 2000. Guests will be living with masterpieces from Lloyd wright, Philip Johnson and Van der Rohe. Furniture includes pieces by Cassina, Vitra and Moroso, many were made in Brianza the design district between Lake Como and Milan, which can be visited with the Design Experience. Artworks include significant sculptures by Bijan Bassirith, the most important Iranian artist and a leading light at the Venice Biennale.

The main house has 9 double bedrooms all flooded with sunlight, with two or three large windows overling the lake and gardens. Rooms are set over four floors, all accessible with a private lift. Additionally, there is a garden cottage that sleeps two guests. There is a guardian cottage with three double rooms, hosting the resident staff, with space for guests’ staff.

Porto Felice’s gardens are rich and mature, azalias flourish in Lake Como’s famously even climate, there are ginkgo trees, red acacia, a bamboo forest and an olive grove from which the family presses their own oil. The Kitchen Gardens have an abundance of fresh produce that will make its way to the dining table; courgettes and tomatoes, salad leaves, fragrant rosemary, basil and sage. In late summer you have sweet grapes, in autumn apples, and cherries ripen after spring.
