Forter Castle, Folda, Scotland Vacation Rental
Forter castle was built in 1560 and destroyed in 1640. It was lovingly restored in the late 1980's. The castle is located in the beautiful Scottish Highlands about 1.5hr drive from Edinburgh airport and on route to the Cairngorm national park. You’ll love Forter Castle because of the elegant interiors, cosiness, high ceilings, views, onsite chapel perfect for weddings and the amazing location.
Forter castle is excellent for families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). The space has been beautifully restored and decorated by internationally acclaimed owner and designer Katharine Pooley. The internal areas have been designed to maximize comfort whilst retaining a traditional Scottish flair in keeping with a home originally built in 1560.
The castle has a stone spiral staircase which gives access to each bedroom over five floors. Guests will have access to all areas of the castle including a piggery with three mountain bikes, laundry area and wood for the great fire. The castle has a fully equipped kitchen with basic condiments.
We have a house manager who will be available during your stay. We provide all information and can help with any area of your stay to maximise your comfort and ease of use this includes catering options, hiking options, and a whole variety of experiences such as bagpipers, ceilhs, a full Scottish sporting experience, fishing, babysitting, cycling, golf etc.
