Chateau La Durantie luxury vacation rental is a spacious and elegant accommodation located in the Perigord Vert, a beautiful and tranquil part of the Dordogne, Southwest France, which is very well connected with flights to the UK and trains to Paris. The Château was built in 1845 for the Duke of Isly, and has been recently renovated to a high standard of luxury. Offering over 1,100 m2 (12,000 square feet) of living space and in total 13 bedrooms, the rooms are elegantly decorated with valuable antiques. The Château is perfect for a special event, family get together or a relaxing and enchanting holiday.

The grounds cover 5 hectares (12 acres), and include a heated pool, a private tennis court, a park and fruit orchards. Table tennis, 5 aside football pitch, Croquet lawn, 2 Weber gas barbeques are provided, as well as bicycles to explore the area. Spacious reception rooms are spread out on the ground floor – a formal drawing room, a magnificent dining room, a library, a billiard room, a little salon, a TV room, an office, a kitchen and two cloakrooms. In the basement there is a second kitchen/breakfast room. A large terrace invites al-fresco lunches/dinners. All rooms are very light due to the very high ceilings.

Two master suites and another 3 ensuite bedrooms are located on the first floor, all with flat screen TVs and DVD player. On the second floor there are 8 further bedrooms, of which 3 have a double bed, 3 have each 2 single beds and 2 bedrooms have two double beds each. There are 2 shower rooms in marble, 1 shower room in granite with a toilet, and another toilet room. All bedrooms have luxurious Frette bed linens and towels.

The area offers many gourmet restaurants, medieval villages, local markets, magnificent castles and châteaus to visit. It is a very unspoiled area which offers extremely starry nights, and there are almost no mosquitoes. A golf course is 8 minutes away, as well as a riding stable, and a lake with sand beach and water skiing. One of the best trout rivers for fishing is only a minutes to drive, and kayaking and canoeing are 15 minutes away.
