Mas Talaya is a large Girona vacation villa dating back to 1806 located in the beautiful green countryside, just north of Barcelona. Nestled in the small town of Vilademuls in the heart of Spain's Catalan region, the 'Tuscany-of-Spain' style villa is a short drive to Girona, the beaches on the Costa Brava, the Dali Museum in Figueres and the French border. This lovely property has been delicately restored by this amazing owner, who is also a retired American College Professor and Historian.

The Mas Talaya holiday villa has 6 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning and boasts a private outdoor swimming pool with magnificent views of the Pyrenees Mountains. Enjoy cooking in the spacious open-plan kitchen or outdoor BBQ and relax on the patio. The location of the villa is unique: some weeks in spring you can go skiing in the morning, come back for lunch at the villa, go to the beach in the afternoon and finish the day eating in one of several Michelin star restaurants that are located in the historical city of Girona and surrounding towns.

Very few places in the Mediterranean hold the charming yet exclusive feeling of this area. Our vacation villa is near famous vineyards in Catalonia - Priorat and Penedes - and at the same time, history is present at every corner. The villa is close to such diverse attractions as Roman, Greek and Phoenician ruins, medieval towns, white sandy beaches of the Costa Brava, ski resorts, a PGA championship golf course in addition to 6 other public golf courses, village markets, shopping areas and Michelin star restaurants, making Mas Talaya an ideal choice when looking for your perfect Mediterranean holiday rental home.

Importantly the villa is only 25 minutes from Girona airport for flights coming from most cities in Europe and the UK and just 75 minutes from Barcelona airport that has international flights coming from major airports in the US, Asia-Pacific and South America. Those who enjoy golf have many golf courses to choose from or combine a morning of golf and an afternoon of touring the wine cellars from the area. Spend the morning on the beach and then, after some tapas in San Marti d'Empuries, spend the afternoon visiting the Greco-Roman ruins of Empuries.

Plan a week or two of museums, golf, visiting the quaint medieval towns, enjoying the scenic coastal drives, spending a day in France (just 30 minutes from the villa), visiting the different wine areas, relaxing by the pool and having petanque competitions with the whole family / group of friends while enjoying a glass of wine. Your stay will be the most memorable of your vacations and we can make sure all details are taken care of.
