You can rent out the entire 15 one-bedroom villas island resort at Thatch Caye Resort. It isn't just a resort, it's a secluded all-inclusive tropical island on 11 acres of paradise. With 8 over-the-water bungalows and 7 ocean view cabanas, the whole island is exclusively yours. Each accommodation is a true oasis with private outdoor space and more importantly, no “real world” distractions. You will have all of the necessities, but not much else. You won’t find a phone, TV, or WiFi in your room, but all are available, if you happen to need them. From destination weddings to corporate retreats, we host it all.

Our chef can create a custom menu that everyone will remember for a lifetime. We know how important your dining experience is. That’s why we include the all-inclusive, island style package with all reservations. This package includes three meals per day, snacks and local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We hire the best local chefs to ensure we have a wide variety of Belizean and international dishes. We cater to any dietary needs, preferences, allergies - just let us know when you book your trip what you require. Our staff gets rave reviews from all of our guests, and they will see to you every need.

Enjoy the convenience of daily curated meals by the private island chef and indulge with unlimited local beverages from the overwater Starfish Bar or cozy Coco Lounge. Your typical daily dining consists of a made to order breakfast, a traditional Belizean lunch, afternoon snack and an authentic three course dinner. There aren’t menus at Thatch Caye, because all meals are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients from our Farms.

Thatch Caye is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. WiFi is only available in common areas, allowing you to immerse yourself in your getaway. When you’re not holing up in your overwater bungalow or cabana, you’ll be discovering the true meaning of blissful tropical living. You’ll be sunbathing on a hammock, swimming in the natural saltwater pool, receiving an optional seaside massage, or enjoying many of the complimentary water toys. You’ll be knocking back fruity drinks and dining on fresh Belizean cuisine at the overwater bar, lounge, or The Grove. Perhaps the chef is preparing a fish that you caught that day! Since all meals are served communally, you’ll get to hear stories from your fellow travelers and possibly make a few new friends. You and your guests can enjoy incredible water-based adventures from SCBUA to world-class fly fishing and everything in between.

BELIZE BARRIER REEF

The coastal area of Belize is an outstanding natural system consisting of the largest barrier reef in the northern hemisphere, offshore atolls, several hundred sand cays, mangrove forests, coastal lagoons and estuaries. It is the second-largest coral reef system in the world and one of the most sought-after tourist destinations for recreational activities such as diving, snorkeling, sailing, and fishing. In 1996, it was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This island resort offers adventure and island fun in a barefoot casual environment.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The accommodations are breathtaking with a rustic Belizean feel, but only include the necessities (and air-conditioning, of course). This allows you to completely immerse yourself in your surroundings. From the beautiful overwater bungalows to spacious oceanfront cabanas, each accommodation is styled island chic. The option of a king bed or two twin beds is available for added flexibility. You will have all of the necessities, but not much else.

Disconnect to reconnect - You won’t find a phone, TV, or WiFi in your room, but all are available, if you happen to need them. One TV and telephone is available for guest use in the Coco Lounge. WiFi is available in the Coco Lounge and The Grove.

PENTHOUSE OCEANFRONT CABANA (600 sq ft)

Our elegant and spacious Penthouse Oceanfront Cabana has spectacular ocean views, en-suite bathroom, king-sized bed, window seats, easy chairs and dining tables. A 400 sq. ft. private patio with hammocks and lounge chairs complete your spacious home away from home. Children age 6-12 may stay in the cabana for free and receive 50% off of packages. Children 5 and under receive complimentary packages. An additional adult can be added to stay in the cabana with the purchase of full price packages. Must be able to climb stairs.

OCEANFRONT CABANA (300 sq ft ea)

Beautifully located, our two elegant Oceanfront Cabanas have spectacular ocean views, en-suite bathrooms, and a king-size bed. Oceanfront Cabanas have air conditioning, but we recommend opening the windows and enjoying the cool breeze provided by the Caribbean Sea.

PREMIER OCEANFRONT CABANA (450 sq ft)

Beautifully located, our elegant and spacious Penthouse Oceanfront Cabana has spectacular ocean views, en-suite bathroom, king-sized bed, window seats, easy chairs and dining tables. A 400 sq. ft. private patio with hammocks and lounge chairs complete your spacious home away from home. Guests must be able to climb stairs. OVERWATER BUNGALOW (350 sq ft ea)

Perched high above the sea, our 3 Overwater Bungalows easily accommodate 2 adults with your choice of a King size bed or two Twin size beds. These Bungalows share a large deck with hammocks swaying in the sea breeze. With individual bathrooms with shower, and air-conditioning (but you likely won’t need it).

PREMIER OVERWATER BUNGALOW(350 sq ft ea)

Each of our 5 Premier Overwater Bungalows accommodate 2 adults with your choice of a King size bed or two Twin size beds. Our overwater bungalows are built on stilts out over the ocean. With stunning 180° views of distant islands and clear blue water they are a true vacationer’s paradise. Enjoy private decks, air conditioning, natural saltwater swimming pool & hammocks everywhere. Each is colorfully decorated, has an en-suite bathroom.

GETTING HERE:

Nearest airport is Dangriga Airport. Once you have arrived in Dangriga, our friendly staff will meet you and take you to our dock for the 9 miles crossing from Dangriga to the island. The shuttle is approximately 25 minutes. Transportation to and from the island is included.

The staff will coordinate arrivals and departures on a daily basis with one departure time and two arrival times. Guests departing the island will leave for Dangriga at 7:45 am, 9:00 am, or 11 am. and guests arriving will be picked up at 2:00 pm and 5:00 - 5:30 pm. If flight arrives in between these times, guests can enjoy The Pelican Beach Resort bar on the beach until the next boat pickup.
