Suenos del Mar, Los Cabos, Mexico Vacation Rental
The private, four-bedroom villa brings Spanish Colonial authenticity to Cabo’s most prestigious locale. Enchanting architecture including a lushly landscaped courtyard and 2,000 square feet of outdoor living space at the edge of a panoramic view of the Sea of Cortez creates a magnificent setting for celebrating life’s large and small pleasures in Los Cabos.
Speaking of small pleasures: when you arrive at Suenos del Mar, a work-of-art entryway welcomes you. Iron hanging baskets overflow with flowers against the circular stone portico, and overhead, an iron dome creates an intricate latticework accent against the sky. Just inside the entry, find the courtyard with its bistro table and fountain a transition space to the residence proper, with entrances for both the villa and the guest villa. Push through the wood doors of the villa, and you’ll find a second stunning entrance a two-story circular foyer crowned with a dramatic iron chandelier, and beyond it, through the living area, a sweeping view of endless blue sky and sea.
At your arrival, you’ll also be greeted by the sounds of Spanish music piped through the indoor/outdoor surround sound system, plus a chef-prepared appetizer course accompanied by from-scratch margaritas.
More indulgences include an intuitive floor plan beautified by top-notch interior designer, and a massive outdoor living area with an infinity pool, hot spa, fire bowl, and outdoor dining. Guests also enjoy access to the amenities of the One&Only Palmilla.
The design team was able to begin working their magic while Suenos del Mar was still under construction meaning our signature footprint was there from Day One. Our team hand-selected the tiles to be used throughout, and added dramatic details to the living area including wood beams and a built-in entertainment cabinet to conceal the large HDTV. We also added French doors to both sides of the dining area, allowing for the sounds of the courtyard fountain on one side and wonderful ocean views on the other.
Commissioned all of the interior décor for Suenos del Mar. This includes a collection of custom-made furnishings, antiques and original art from Spain and Mexico, handmade Mexican dishware, custom furnishings and fabrics, hand-carved armoires, hand-forged iron chandeliers most notably, the very dramatic chandelier in the entry foyer and imported, deep blue mosaic tiles for the pool. An artist was brought on board to hand-paint the tile in the kitchen and also to provide soft accents around the living room ceiling arches. The total affect is that of an artisan, Spanish Colonial dream home at the edge of the sea.
The Azul Master Suite: A vision in coral blue and warm gold hues, the Azul Master Suite has the deep blue Sea of Cortez as its focal point enticing as a shimmering desert mirage. Sliding glass opens to a private terrace with chaise lounges facing the view. Vaulted ceilings, accented by dark wood beams, open the space even further. You will have the sleep of your life here, thanks to the king-sized, four-poster Signature bed, outfitted in custom fabrics, down pillows, and a double pillow-top mattress (this is customary on all of our beds, which our guests call “the most comfortable in the world”).
Even the chair and ottoman in the sitting area are unbelievably comfortable we had them custom-made with down. And the ensuite bath is spa-like, with its oversized soaking spa overlooking the Sea of Cortez, walk-in shower, WC, double vanity and a sitting area for ladies to prepare for an evening out.
The Sand Master Suite: A second master suite, the Sand Suite also boasts unbound Sea of Cortez views, an outdoor terrace with two chaise lounges, vaulted ceilings with dark wood beams, and a king-sized, four-poster Signature bed. A sand and coral color scheme is carried throughout the room’s custom bedding, draperies, and furniture, including a hand-carved armoire that hides an HDTV. The ensuite bath indulges with a walk-in shower, WC, and double vanity.
The Courtyard Suite: In this flexible, garden-side room on the lower level of the main house, two twin beds can combine to create one king. Regardless of its configuration, the Signature bed provides custom fabrics and bedding, double pillow-top mattresses, down/feather pillows, and intricate iron headboards. The Spanish-style décor includes a handcrafted armoire, which holds an HDTV, and hand-painted furniture. A sliding glass wall opens to the courtyard with a sitting area and the burbling sounds of the fountain morning coffee is never more luxurious than at the bistro table in this courtyard. An en-suite bathroom in this suite boasts a large walk-in shower for when the coffee mug has been drained and it’s time to begin your day in Los Cabos.
The Seashell Suite: This suite boasts a queen-sized bed with an iron canopy and custom fabrics. A sliding glass door leads to the courtyard, which is shared with the Courtyard Suite. An en-suite bathroom provides a large walk-in shower that opens to outdoors. Guests are welcomed to this suite with two antique, hand-painted bulls from Mexico – representing the rich and celebrated bull-fighting culture of Spain.
Fully Equipped Chef Style Kitchen: A giant commercial kitchen boasts a family-friendly layout, including a circular barstool area that seats several comfortably. Artisan focal points in the kitchen include the iron chandelier and the hand-painted tiles behind the kitchen range. Acres of cabinets are brimming with everything you can imagine several styles of margarita and wine glasses, hand-painted Mexican dishware, a collection of small appliances, and much more. Whether you’re preparing a meal yourself, or commissioning our personal chef to create one for you, this kitchen is a fitting setting for the start of a splendid meal.
Dining Areas: Two dining areas provide plenty of opportunities for shared meals in paradise. The interior dining area can seat eight for dinner in view of the Sea of Cortez through one set of French doors, and through the other, enjoy a view of the interior courtyard with its stone fountain and palms. To accent this dining area, the design team undertook a multi-town search throughout Mexico for authentic art and uncovered several gorgeous pieces. With its hand-carved side table, hand-forged iron chandelier, and caramel leather chairs, this indoor dining space also makes for a stately yet tranquil place for a business meeting, as well. Meanwhile, the outdoor dining area showcases Sea of Cortez views and evening breezes. Put a flame to the candelabra, sear some steaks at the nearby gas grill, uncork a bottle of wine, and revel in life!
Living Area: One half of a dynamic combination of indoor and outdoor living space, the indoor living area includes floor-to-ceiling glass doors that recede into the walls and open to the outdoor lanai, with its cobalt blue outdoor furniture, which mirrors the impossibly blue sea just beyond. Inside, the furniture is made from contrasting white linen, chosen by the design team to pop against the deep blue backdrop of sky, sea and infinity pool. Adding to the ambiance are antiques from Mexico and original art. Part of the villa’s dramatic entrance, this living area has caused many a jaw to drop when our guests first arrive at Suenos del Mar.
Sitting Area: The sitting area off the kitchen is an ideal area to casually mingle perfect in the mornings or following dinner.
Outdoor Pool Terrace: In Los Cabos, 340 days of sun mean that indoor space and outdoor space require very little division. At Suenos del Mar, we bring the outside in, and vice versa, with receding glass walls and, beyond them, 2,000 ft² of magnificent outdoor living space. This outdoor sanctuary features a lap-size, heated infinity pool inlaid with an imported, vibrant blue tile mosaic, and a hot spa that flows into the pool and creates its own infinity edge. The palapa bar area with bar stools is warmed by a fire bowl. Another place to recline is under the thatch roof – we have comfortable seating here, too, for enjoying the warmth of the stone fireplace on a cool evening. Just outside the living area, find yet another sitting area under a roof and cooled by an outdoor ceiling fan for languid afternoons.
Suenos del Mar is adjacent to the One&Only Palmilla, rated the best resort in Mexico and consistently at the top of the Condé Nast’s Gold List. Guests enjoy access to this resort’s exclusive spa, award-winning restaurants and Jack Nicklaus 27-hole golf course. Your Cuvée Travel Expert and On-site Host can assist with all your wishes including in-residence massages, personal chef and butler services, daily housekeeping, babysitting and a personal driver.
