Not only is the five-bedroom townhome a short walk from several lifts, it’s close to shopping, dining and shared amenities like hot tubs and pools. If you’ll be in Vail during the summer, you can enjoy the mountain scenery from nearby trails and golf courses instead.

For your convenience and comfort, the villa has a heated garage, elevator, ski lockers, air conditioning and heating system. If you still have energy at the end of the day, hit the shared gym; if not, head to the shared hot tub or heated swimming pool, have a glass of wine on the private balcony or relax with the villa’s TV and Internet access.

The spacious great room at Royal Elk is both cozy and sophisticated, with a rustic stone fireplace, traditional mullioned windows offering mountain views, luxe leather sofas and elegant tufted armchairs. A dining table set against a bay window is a bright, inviting place for up to eight guests. The modern kitchen has natural tones of stone and wood and a breakfast bar, and is fully equipped.

The villa’s master suite has a king bed, en-suite bathroom, fireplace and TV. There are also two bedrooms with queen beds, one bedroom with a double bed and one bedroom with two twin bunk beds. Use the spacious loft as a sleeping area for the kids, or an extra master bedroom for the adults. Wood furnishings and natural tones make the bedrooms feel quiet and restful, while vintage ski posters and elk-themed artwork are more playful touches.

From Royal Elk, it’s a half-mile or less to Elkhorn Lift 14, Strawberry Park Express Lift 12, Centennial Express Lift 6, and the Buckaroo Express Gondola. If you’ve been there, skied those, head to Highlands Lift 2, about 11 miles away, or Vail proper, 12.5 miles away. It’s also a half-mile or less to Beaver Creek Golf Club, Beaver Creek Village and Beaver Lake Trail, and only about 5 miles to Eagle Vail Golf Club. Fly into Eagle County Regional Airport, 29 miles away, or Aspen-Pitkin County Airport, 92 miles away.
