Lodge at Shooting Star 04, Teton Village, Wyoming Vacation Rental
From the outside, the Lodge evokes a classic Western barn—perfectly suited to its rugged alpine setting. But the interior tells a more nuanced story of style taking root in the Tetons. The contemporary residence sits on a prime site within Shooting Star, a luxury development neighboring legendary Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With an award-winning golf course and only a short walk (or shuttle ride) away from the world-class ski slopes, Shooting Star cultivates an elegant alpine experience.
Designed by acclaimed local architect John Carney, the Lodge marries the communal grace of a great room with the unfolding privacy of second-floor sleeping quarters. A stack of firewood flanks the front door, foreshadowing the roaring fires that will heat the house on cold nights. The foyer greets guests with a large mirror, rustic-chic chest and antler accents. Lantern pendants illuminate the entry. Just beyond, the great room lives up to its name with its soaring two-story scale, expressed in its cathedral ceiling, wall of picture windows and towering stone fireplace. The airy ambiance is accentuated by the light color scheme used throughout, a palette defined by flax, gray and cream. Two sofas—slipcovered in a subtle faux bois fabric—bracket the fireplace, as do a pair of armchairs. A rustic log mantel matches the barnwood panel hiding the TV. Woven armchairs surround the polished dining table, and a barnwood bar and aged sideboard enable easy entertaining. A candelabra chandelier dangles above the living expanse.
The adjoining kitchen features an array of gourmet accoutrements, from a gas stove to stainless steel appliances and sage-green granite countertops—all surrounded by custom barnwood cabinets. Studded barstools create a breakfast perch, and industrial pendants hit a modern note.
Adirondack chairs invite outdoor entertaining on the Teton-facing deck. For dining, a pair of square tables can accommodate al fresco game night or bundled breakfasts, or combine to host a dinner party. On the side, a fireplace and more chairs encourage fireside chats.
The remainder of the first floor encompasses the first bedroom featuring The third bedroom features a king bed capped by an antique mount, a leather armchair, studded nightstands, ceramic table lamps and a commodious ensuite bath.
Upstairs, the master bedroom boasts sweeping views of the valley—visible through two walls’ worth of windows. The king bed, wrapped in a fur throw, faces a seating vignette defined by two slipcovered armchairs and an antler side table. Speaking of antlers, a prized bison mount crowns the fireplace. The large ensuite master bath offers a double vanity, soaking tub and glass rain shower.
Next door, a versatile media room can accommodate a plethora of uses. With built-in bookshelves and ample seating, the space could serve as a relaxing upstairs enclaveor the flax sofa could pull out into a big bed for spillover guests. No matter the mode, the flat screen TV encourages unwinding after a long day spent outdoors.
An artful interlude between bedrooms finds a hallway console topped by a pair of wooden sculptures and a nocturnal painting. The second third bedroom, designed with kiddos in mind, offers a pair of bunk beds. A slipcovered armchair, plenty of storage and ensuite bath make the room a self-contained roost for little ones.
The Lodge’s many assets are matched only by the myriad of diversions that await outside. A bike path borders the community, allowing for car-free travel between top spots including the southern entrance to Grand Teton National Park. Downtown Jackson is a short drive away, as is the hamlet of Wilson. Whether fly fishing or horseback riding, mountain biking or backcountry skiing, the Lodge allows you to choose your own adventure – with the help of TCCG’s Concierge team.
